About posting on the Blog

Yesterday - Bron, Velda, Liz and Elaine introduced ourselves to the blog when we were at Tūrangi

About posting on the blog

If you skim through the authors, you will find that N4W, Karen, Elaine are the only ones who have posted.  And you can find their posts by searching for them (Can you?)

YOU are NOT expected to plow your way through the following writing - it is for reference and MAYBE for conversation if you would like to expand your understanding once you have access to posting.

Today I have increased the list of those who can post :

This is so dark that it is hard to read so I will explain :

Left side - these are the controls available for those who can administer the blog (at the moment that is only "7+" because this blog is owned by sevenplusfg@gmail.com.  I gave myself (Elaine) full permission earlier but found two reasons - (1) what I have access from my personal email is the same as others, and (2) because it separates the personal ME from the 7+ME/US  [Actually it makes sense for any of us who become administrators to refer to the self as 7+US because we are writing on behalf of 7+ at the time. - see footnote - we are a collective working collaboratively]

This shows that the adjustments administrators can make sit within Settings.

Middle column - By cruising down to Permissions I was able to invite more authors - we can see that Niki and Bron were invited on 25Jan and Velda and Liz today.

And this one shows that Elaine and Karen  are authors and I ( as N4W) am admi n - as described above.

I suggest that for the next week or so, while not many people know this blog exists, we simply play - add anything - make us laugh - add suggestions, ideas, poems, whatever.   FIrstly - it doesn't matter much - the posts simply disappear under a chain of posts - and will only be called up by (a) searching for it (using your name, or the month of publication, or the labels you have used or (b) by cruising down through all the previous postings.

About adding labels* - here again .. just experiment. I/we suspect that we will rationalise and simplify them at some stage - but meantime lets see what emergesl

Technical stuff for individuals

Becoming known by the blog ... (Karen, at this point, has not yet figured out how to become "known" - this is simply an example of the massive amount of knowledge we are gradually building up as we gradually develop this blog - Karen can post but the blog does not know who she is.  As I recall it, I as Elaine, eventually figured out that I needed to go into my own blog and ... goodness knows ... something worked.  ... please comment on this blog with solutions ... so others know what to do.

Being able to comment on the blog - I can't remember whether I had to give you permission for this - I suspect not - but let me know ... as I recall it, there is a permission which allows others to comment without having permission to post.  That will be the right of folk within the N4W networks who do not join Techie Teams.*

Glossary Notes:

*Techie Teams are made up of folk who choose to join them - the only condition is that they know something and are willing to share ideas and learn more.  We can grant different levels of access to people as they become skilled - so they cannot do damage accidentally - but everyone can learn and share what they understand - AND know who knows more.

* About labels :

  • Blog-tech is anything to do with understanding how the blog works - and is relevant to anyone in the tech team.  we will find a way to list the Blog tech team - actually - I can do that short term because of the second text note on left hand side.  BY THE WAY - I am writing all this stuff because when I clarify the detail I am able to consolidate it in my memory - and because I can look back at what I have written I can recall it in the distant future.  YOU are NOT expected to plow your way through all this writing - You will have your own ways of recalling stuff if you need it.

  1. I, Karen, wonder why in the second image showing admin and authors it shows Elaine as Elaine but me as Unknown. How complicated this is at depth, while seeming simple on the surface.

    1. Karen here again. I just noticed that when I am writing a comment, there is a dropdown area above me that says "Comment as: Anonymous". If I choose "Google account" it wants me to make my own blog, but there is also an option to choose Name/URL, which then lets me add a comment as me!
