First Fridays Network

The First Fridays Network began in late 2023 to cater for people who were unable to attend 7+ and/or had an interest is beginning a new network. 

It has developed so that when it met in April 2024 we had a mailing list of 19 people, 12 of whom joined the meeting at Eastgate.  You can see more about our progress by clicking on the FF link in the labels section on the right of this screen.  That will take you to some of our more recent information. 

At this stage we are in the habit of meeting at a library with a cafe, or in a cafe near a library.  This could change, but at times it has been helpful for small groups to assemble near a public computer. 

We did not get to talk about the following but they are the kinds of things we have  been doing. 

Purpose

• fresh opportunities to meet like-minded (what does that mean?) people who have similar or different interests - 
• opportunities to learn stuff and share activities - 
• opportunities to learn fresh skills and grow fresh ideas. 
•  ongoing meaningful conversations (as opposed to ... ???)

Activities - what do we have - what do we want?

• Open meeting on First Fridays - anyone is welcome and bring friends 
• We will share the organisation of things we do - for example, those who are joining Flourishing sorted out things like phone numbers in April - and did some planning around supporting each other.
  
• Maybe technology support?  
• Movie going - get together - games 
• Maybe links to other N4W networks?
•  
  

Values - kindness, respect, celebrating diversity?  

We did wonder about blokes joining us -but not all of us were part of the conversation - and we did not see how to foster similar stuff for men.
