This is a brainstorming exercise. AoNZ could be grunty (purposeful) around fostering questions and activities that straddle the "age and stage" related networks
But basically - it is about recognising the value in calling NZ Aotearoa NZ and working toward being a bicultural nation (as in Te Tiriti) with a multicultural values and concerns (or something like that) - and it includes care for all aspects of well-being - environmental, social, individual, political etc. - the values of N4W???
- AoNZ could evolve into a network which straddles our other networks and focuses on specific activities or projects that interest and involve people from outside N4W (other existing organisations can be our allies). For example:
- Te Reo Plus - networking to support competence and growth in using te reo Māori - and more -
- Learning through games - working with WEA on the Learning Cities project for 18 May - Kanohi ki te kanohi (ie - face to face - building on learning).
- Working with 3AF to support Flourishing - and linking Kiwi content in to our own expansion into Thriving.
- Flourishing Group 2024 - Nine people from the First Friday network are enrolling in the programme run by the Third Age Foundation.
- Supporting Ian in his work toward transition65.
- Technology Plus - something emerging within First Fridays - simply support in using and enjoying basic computer and cell phone skills
- And - "So what are our values?" - what does it mean to have shared values etc.
Purpose - to foster actions and conversations about any issue which concern us around the future of New Zealand as a country for future generations
Activities -
- Use the resources available through N4W to promote links and allegiances with organisations that have similar interests and values to those of N4W
- Foster actions and conversations that promote well-being in all its forms - encourage group activity.
- environmental, global, sustainability,
- politically - issues around promoting democracy, addressing misinformation etc. social justice. - citizenship and voting.
- thriving communities, local connectivity,
- individual well-being and support - growth model
